The beauty of ordinary objects

My jewellery not only draws inspiration from nature: it incorporates it. Through a process called organic casting, I take real objects and transform them into sterling silver, preserving every detail of the original in precious metal. A bee's wing. The ridged spine of a sea star. These are things we pass every day without stopping. This collection asks you to stop.

Organic casting works by encasing the original object in a single use mould. When the metal is poured, it fills the exact space the item occupied - every texture, every imperfection, every accident of nature. The result is a negative that is simultaneously more permanent and more fragile than what it replaces.

"The name Clipped Memories comes from the idea that we clip things: we save them, we pin them, we screenshot them, but we rarely let ourselves truly hold them. These pieces ask you to hold them."

The evolution

The collection began in 2023 as a limited series of real wasp earrings and pendants, each cast from an individual naturally deceased wasp. No two pieces are identical because no two wasps are identical.

In 2024 I extended the collection under the name Clipped Memories, broadening the range of objects to include things from childhood and everyday life: a butterfly claw clip, a pretzel, sea stars, berries. These are objects we truly love and which are truly precious to us, but which we rarely treat as such. Cast in sterling silver, they become undeniably precious. They earn the weight they always deserved.

In 2026 the real bee drop will be launched.

Custom orders are open. If you have an object that carries meaning, something you want to preserve, I can cast it for you.
